Special furnishing
We, our factories and mounters have very long experience, solid knowledge and the conditions needed to be able to help you with special interior design, both for indoor and outdoor projects. Our metal mesh are always uniquely manufactured according to the customer’s wishes and we have great opportunities to achieve the customers ‘and architects’ visions with our metal meshes. Together with our partners in various production areas, we can offer the most.
For the Technical Museum in Stockholm, we have manufactured metal mesh in stainless steel with rings for the project. We assembled them according to architect Monica Förster’s drawings and wishes to create aesthetic rooms and corridors at the exhibition. When the metal mesh is illuminated, its shapes and drapes appear in a fantastic way. To create room in the room, a strong stand of iron beams was required, which we manufactured for the project. Specially manufactured rods were also manufactured to be able to mount the metal nets directly on the beams. Metal mesh of rings can be produced in a single piece, max 23 square meters, and cut into different shapes. We can also offer cylinder form in one piece.
For the Filmhuset, we were commissioned to manufacture a Mini-Shop to their foyer with lockable metal draperies in stainless steel, shop shelves, cupboards, shop podiums, display furniture, etc. whose forms and expression by Architect Ahrbom & Partner marry the Filmhuset’s original interior from the late 60s by architect Peter Celsing. In the foyer, the reception and ticket office have been combined with a bistro and bar. For it, we have made another lockable metal curtain in stainless steel that runs around the entire counter, with parking along the wall as long as the bar is open.
For the 5-star Hotel NH Collection in Copenhagen, we have made brass boxes for the ceiling in their lobby from bent, custom-made metal mesh. Eighteen square ceiling tiles of braided solid brass crown the stairway. Each brass box has sides of slightly different thickness. We made frames that were adapted to the different heights with lighting between the boxes that reinforces the brass and further emphasizes the different depths of the boxes.
Most of our rigid braided metal mesh can be made to desired sizes, bent and rolled.
We were given a bigger challenge for a project in Stockholm by the architects DAP when we had to create a ceiling similar to bubbles with the possibility of accessing lighting and sprinklers. Custom-made metal mesh of individually welded rings were manufactured for the project and assembled along the sides of the metal mesh. The metal mesh were suspended from the ceiling and with the help of the metal mesh’s construction and weight, this unique bubble ceiling was created. When the metal mesh is illuminated, the ceiling shimmers in different shades like soap bubbles.
For an office building in Norway, we were commissioned to manufacture an undulating brass suspanded ceiling for their entrance and staff restaurant at Tordenskioldsgate 8-10 in Oslo. For the assembly of the metal mesh, a stable but flexible frame construction was required, which we produced in black steel against the black suspended ceiling. When the golden brass is illuminated, the suspended ceiling looks like a golden sky above the warm and welcoming interior by Metropolis Arkitekter Norge.
For the ICE office in Norway, we were commissioned by the architect Metropolis in Norway to create a metal mesh in solid brass as wall cladding for the ICE lobby and entrance. They wanted a 13 meter long undulating wall of metal mesh with different radii on the rail curves in the ceiling and floor and out of step with each other. Since the metal mesh is not flexible in both directions, we made custom-made rails that would handle what was required and the variation of the sizes of the curves.
For Moelven’s office in Gothenburg, we have been commissioned to manufacture brass screens to create an extra room in the heart of the office. We manufactured the screens in various sizes, bent according to the architect’s wishes, and assembled them on site into a circular room. The frames are made of black lacquered steel and mounted with spiral mesh in solid brass. Together, the screens form a central social room in the office with great transparency. The metal mesh is more visible when illuminated and becomes a warm golden feature in the warm interior of the office.
