The Ångström Laboratory is one of Uppsala University’s large facilities. The “New Ångström” means an extension of two new houses of a total of 30,000 square meters, where new meeting places, educational environment and integrated IT research have been created under one roof. The new building also contains a reception, café and a common light courtyard in the middle of the house.
For their café and restaurant, we have made a curtain with locking . For the curtain we have used metal mesh GR.127 which is made of slightly stronger wires and is a excellent mesh to close restaurants etc. As the metal mesh has a very large open area, it gives an airy and light impression. The metal curtain runs along the restaurant’s long counter in a rail, which is mounted on a steel beam. By mounting the curtain with folding profiles and wheels, the parking space area is minimized to about 15% of the total length of the metal curtain. With the help of special radius on the curves on the rail, the curtain can end against the wall. The metal curtain is parked along one side of the wall. On the opposite side, the curtain is locked using wall profiles.
Metal mesh GR.127 is made of wire spirals. As the metal mesh is very light, it is suitable for interior design such as ceilings, partitions, room dividers and metal curtains. Also available in other sizes of wire GR.100, GR.45 and GR.716.
Stainless steel 316 for outdoor use.
